Even great coffee will taste bad if your equipment isn’t being maintained properly by your vendor. And of course, broken equipment and no coffee at all, leaves an even worst taste in customer’s mouths.
Properly maintained equipment means better tasting coffee and fewer breakdowns which translates to happier customers and, ultimately, more revenue for your business.
There are a number of common ways that your equipment will fail or contribute to sub-par coffee. Water is a critical component. Everyone knows that hard water requires filtration. However, not all water filters are equal to the task at hand. If your filtration system is underperforming, you could still be getting water that doesn’t taste as good as it could and/or water that contains a high mineral content. This not only directly affects taste but can cause calcium deposits that lead to mold, mildew and equipment failure.
Calcium deposits can also make your equipment have to work harder to force water through smaller tubes. This can cause them to literally double their electricity use. That not only increases your costs to run the equipment but can reduce equipment life.
Screens, gaskets and other minor equipment parts are inexpensive and if replaced regularly, can help keep equipment operating at optimum levels. If these items are neglected, however, they can lead to leaks and other problems. Finally, training is important because sometimes your employees are your equipment’s worst enemy.
If you think any of the above issues may be affecting the quality of your service or increasing maintenance costs, or you are just not confident that your vendor is providing the kind of pro-active approach your business deserves, give us a call at (800) 932-5282. We are happy to come out and give you a Free Tune-up and evaluation of your equipment.
You have a few different options when it comes to acquiring equipment. You can buy new, buy used or lease equipment. While we are happy to sell you new equipment, Caribbean Coffee Company offers some other options that we believe are often more cost effective for small businesses. One, because we service the equipment we sell, we can often provide you with refurbished equipment that is as good as new but costs significantly less.
Two, we often provide equipment to customers who are on contract with us for their coffee service. If you are considering replacing some or all of your equipment, give us a call to discuss the options.
